Commissioning of the Asawase Dogo Moro Mini Stadium
Over the weekend, the Municipal Chief Executive of Asokore Mampong Municipality joined the Minister for the Interior and Member of Parliament for the Asawase Constituency, Hon. Alhaji Muntaka Mubarak, the Municipal Chief Executive for Old Tafo, Hon. Abubakar Sadiq, religious and traditional leaders, members of the Old Footballers Association, and other distinguished stakeholders for the official commissioning of the Asawase Dogo Moro Mini Stadium.

The commissioning marked a significant milestone in the Municipality’s ongoing efforts to promote sports development, youth empowerment, and community advancement through the provision of modern sporting infrastructure.
The Dogo Moro Mini Stadium features a modern AstroTurf football pitch, dressing rooms, spectator stands, and a multipurpose court for basketball, tennis, and volleyball. The facility is designed to provide young people with a safe and conducive environment to discover and develop their talents, enhance their sporting abilities, build confidence, and pursue meaningful opportunities through sports.
With the completion of the Dogo Moro Mini Stadium, Asawase now has three completed AstroTurf facilities, namely Dogo Moro, Akurem Highlanders, and Aboabo Middle B.
In addition, three other AstroTurf projects at Sawaba Gallery, Adukrom, and Boubai are currently at various stages of completion and are expected to be commissioned by the end of the year.
The development of these facilities reflects a broader vision to position Asawase as a leading hub for grassroots sports development while harnessing the transformative power of sports to promote youth empowerment, social cohesion, talent development, healthy lifestyles, and economic opportunities.
The Asokore Mampong Municipal Assembly remains committed to working with government, traditional authorities, community leaders, development partners, and other stakeholders to create sustainable opportunities that will positively shape the future of the Municipality’s youth.
