Commissioning of Community Police, Prisons & Health Assistants

The commissioning ceremony for 168 Community Police, Prisons, and Health Assistants under the Youth Employment Agency (YEA) program was successfully held on Friday, 12th January 2024, at the forecourt of the Municipal Assembly.

The event was attended by dignitaries including high-ranking police officials in the municipality, the Presiding Member of the Assembly, the Municipal Coordinating Director (MCD), and the Municipal Chief Executive (MCE), Hon. Kennedy Kwasi Kankam, who played a key role in the proceedings.

In his address, Hon. Kennedy Kwasi Kankam congratulated the newly commissioned personnel and encouraged them to serve their communities with integrity and dedication. He emphasized the importance of professionalism, discipline, and respect for human rights in the discharge of their duties.

Top police officials also addressed the gathering, focusing on the need for vigilance and strict adherence to operational protocols. They urged the recruits to remain within their professional mandates, work closely with their supervisors, and exhibit humility and submission to the chain of command.

The officers reminded them that the success of the YEA initiative depends not just on training and deployment, but also on their personal commitment to upholding the values of service and protection.

This initiative forms part of the government’s broader agenda to create jobs for the youth while improving community safety, prison services, and healthcare support at the grassroots level.
